Sign up for credit monitoring with myTrueIdentity®

Notifications have been mailed to impacted account holders, which include detailed information about resources and support. Here's more information on how you can sign up for the two-year subscription to a comprehensive credit monitoring service (TransUnion myTrueIdentity®) at no cost. 

What you need to know

Here are some tips for signing-up for the two year credit monitoring subscription service:

  • Have your letter handy when you start the sign-up process online via the TransUnion myTrueIdentity® website, you'll need to enter the unique activation code to get started.
  • Be ready to answer security questions. In order to confirm your identity, myTrueIdentity® will ask security questions to ensure your protection.
  • Please complete the myTrueIdentity® enrollment process in one session. For security reasons, the enrollment process cannot be paused or resumed after periods of inactivity.

    Please ensure that you redeem your activation code before September 30, 2025 to take advantage of the service.

    Should you require technical support with myTrueIdentity®, please contact TransUnion Canada directly via the phone number provided in your letter.

    Service Canada advises individuals affected by a breach to contact Canada’s two major credit bureaus (Equifax and TransUnion) for file monitoring, and to regularly review their banking and credit card statements. If an individual notices any suspicious activity related to their SIN, they should report it to the police, contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre and inform Service Canada.  For more information, please visit:
